My approach
My aim in working with people is to help them overcome current hurdles; explore past hurts and issues (including relationship breakdown issues as well as work related concerns); identify and leave behind unhelpful habits and patterns whilst learning new more functional ones; and, most importantly, to identify and access the strengths that they possess to deal with their inner turmoil or the turmoil the world creates.
I am very focussed on helping clients access these strengths within a positive psychology model. My aim is to have clients leave each session feeling stronger and more able to cope with their issues. Not only do I focus on accessing those strengths, I also provide strategies and skill development to build on those strengths. My mission is for you to thrive and not just survive. The environment which I create to do this involves complete privacy; warmth; acceptance; respect and trust. The focus can range from serious conversations to some humour and lightness as well.
